This is a clinic in the Manhattan Chinatown that primarily serves the Chinese community. Most of its patients are or are from working-class immigrant families, and the clinic doesn’t turn people away if they can’t afford it. It’s been serving the neighborhood for decades and making the neighborhood a healthier, safer, and more welcoming place for its residents.
[Due to COVID-19], I miss my internship there, and how I could connect to other youth in the community, especially with the events that the clinic’s Teen Resource Center hold every year. I’m going to miss taking part in setting up open mics and the annual Chinatown basketball tournament at Sara D. Roosevelt Park.
