This is the house appearing in the opening credits of “All in the Family,” one of the longest-running and most socially important TV sitcoms in American history. The show’s content and humor centered around the family of a middle-aged, white, Protestant Queens resident, Archie Bunker, who would, week after week, find himself a fish out of water in an increasingly diverse city and neighborhood. The program went on the air on CBS in 1971. Archie’s house symbolizes the transformation of Queens, mostly white and middle-class in the 1950s, into one of the most diverse places on earth.
