The Hall of Fame for Great Americans was constructed from 1891 to 1910 and was designed to comomerate famous American historical figures. It’s located on the Bronx Community College Campus where it was once dormitories for NYU students.
Currently, there are 98 bronze busts out of 102 that are able to fit on the arc. Before a person can be nominated to enter into the Hall of Fame, they must have been deceased for at least 30 years. Vacancies are still open. Hold a plot for Rosa Parks, now!!!
The grand structure of the semicircular Neo-Classical arc provides a panaramic view of the Harlem River, Fort Tryon Park, Inwood Hill Park, that extends further into the New Jersey Palisades Cliffs. It’s a beautiful site.
