Block on the North Side of East 84th Street, between 1st Avenue and York Avenue

Quiet, tree-lined block with some brownstone stoops out int he sidewalk, other brownstones have their entrances set back to the building line. There are many window boxes with well-tended plants, and flowers in seasonal array. The sidewalk and tree beds also have beautiful flowers and plants. I walk my small Carin Terrier along this stretch almost daily, and it is always an oasis for me to enjoy. No matter the season, the plants and flowers provide a much-needed place of beauty and serenity in the city. The people who live there seem to care, and there is no litter or clutter to disturb the view when one walks down the block. (July 2011)
