Esraa Warda and Ensemble Live Performance + Artist Talk with Dr. Melyssa Haffaf
In conjunction with her exhibition, emBLADy: embodying the Blad {homeland}, Esraa Warda will present a live performance at City Lore on Friday May 15th.
Warda, joined by her musicians, will bring Algerian dance(s) to life — embodying the very questions her exhibit explores.
Following the performance, an artist talk-back and conversation with Dr. Melyssa Haffaf, Executive Director of the Gender + Justice Initiative at Georgetown University, whose long-standing engagement with the artist’s work and broader focus on gender and North African cultural production will further contextualize the exhibit and Warda’s artistic process.
Free, but RSVP required!
