In an annual Sense & the City tradition, I offer seven of my favorite sensory experiences from around this city—this time, sights—that didn’t make it into a full monthly post.

- Irving Scrap Metal in Canarsie: sttractive, accurate, courteous, and a pleasure to do business with.

2. One of the last old-school kulfi-making machines in New York City, Satguru Sweets, Ozone Park.

3. Sidewalk barber, complete with red-and-white striped pole, Upper West Side

4. Just a man and his horse in their front yard, Parkside Avenue, Prospect Lefferts Gardens.

5. Summer city sight, upgraded with custom paint job, Sugar Hill, Harlem.

6. Discarded masala chai cups lined up under the stairs to the 7 train, Jackson Heights.

7. Queens Boulevard castle offering swim lessons and open MRIs, Forest Hills
