“Feed Time” by Annie Rachele Lanzillotto
November 15 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM| $15
A one woman show
Written and performed by Annie Rachele Lanzillotto
Directed by Marjorie LeWit
Friday, November 15th
7:30pm | $15
Annie Lanzillotto bunks heads with her parking meter in her one woman epic “Feed Time,” a journey through the heel of the boot and a meditation on “time,” where she meets ancestors, gravediggers, grape growers, a Saint who sees ecstasies in stirring fava beans and a woman in red with a sultry umbrella on a long hot road laden with fig and olive trees. A return to Eden? Or is The Bronx Eden enough?
You’ve seen Annie take on the iconic objects of the streets of her childhood, throwing Spaldeens at an X marked on a brick wall over the audiences’ heads (Confessions of a Bronx Tomboy: My Throwing Arm, This Useless Expertise), sitting atop a blue corner mailbox telling stories and bench pressing traffic lights in a metaphoric rant about survival in the city (The Flat Earth: Wheredddafffhuck Did New York Go?), now she focuses on the coin-op parking meter, where an hour costs a quarter, or does it cost you your life? Some clocks can’t be re-set. Street metaphors abound.
*”Feed Time” was first heard in the Lounge at Dixon Place, in June 2019
