Kwok Kay Choey | Chinese Painting, Music & Tai Chi

Kwok’s Bio:

My name is Kwok Kay Choey and I was born in Singapore.  I learned Chinese Painting with Chen Wen-hsi (a Chinese-born Singaporean painter), and attended the Teacher’s College of Singapore.

I continued my education at the Art Students League, the School of Visual Art and the New School.  In 1966 I was able to observe art in Europe, Asia and Africa after winning the McDowell Travel Grant

I am an Adjunct Professor at Westchester Community College and I teach Chinese painting at several institutions, including the Queens College, The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The American Museum of Natural History.  Additionally, I am a member of the Chinese Music Ensemble, and a Tai Chi Instructor, and as such, always make a point to introduce my students to Chinese music and Tai Chi within my public school art classes.
