My name is Judy Hoffman and I am a visual artist that lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. I have been a teaching artist for over 17 years. My installations combine disparate elements of industrial refuse, natural debris, ceramics, and handmade paper, with which I construct microcosms, ecosystems and other natural formations. My site-specific installations in NYC include Wave Hill, Ceres Gallery, Central Booking, the Nathan Cummings Foundation, Nutureart, and the Frauen Museum and Kunstler Forum in Bonn, Germany. My artist books are sculpted from handmade paper and clay and are included in the special collections at Yale University, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Alan Chasnanoff Bookworks Collection, among others.
