Haifa Bint Kadi
My name is Haifa Bint Kadi and I am a first generation Arab-American and I find joy sharing aspects of my Middle Eastern heritage within my school residencies. I obtained an M.F.A. from Il Istituto d’Arte per il mosaico in Ravenna in Italy and have been designing and fabricating public art mosaics since 1997, most recently having completed a series of sculptures for the State of New York at SUNY Oneonta. For over 14 years I have had the experience of delivering art workshops that make meaningful and authentic connections between art and non-art subjects. This passion for history shines through in the multiple art forms I work with, including bookmaking, mixed media, collage, assemblage, narrative figures, and wabi sabi-inspired art forms.
