On Sunday, March 3rd, the POEMobile, sponsored by City Lore and Bowery
Arts + Science, partners with Flushing Town Hall in a celebration of the Lunar
New Year. Chinese classical poetry depicting the Lantern Festival, as
well as contemporary Chinese-American poetry will be highlighted. Led by
poetry ambassador Dr. Hsing-Lih Chou, the performances will be
accompanied by projections of the poems in the original Chinese texts
and English language translations. Prior to the show, poems will also be
projected on the 150 year old façade of historic Flushing Town Hall from the roof of the
POEMobile. Outdoor projections begin at 6:30pm; performances at 7:00pm. Admission is free.
